OH! you beat me to it! Damn! I dunno about those sketches. I hate her costume, and it's a shame she lost her tail. But it's still a fun character.

By the way, it just hit me that Mariko is not a new character at all. She's probably the same character as the Mariko that married Wolverine and then got poisoned. That Mariko was Sunfire's cousin, and it hasn't been said anywhere in the book that this Mariko is his sister. She is probably also his cousin in another dimension. Only this Mariko looks so different out of her kimono I didn't make the link at first.

Wonder what happens when she meets any alternative Wolvie. Wonder what happens when she meets the 616 Wolvie!

Hey Elwing, did you read Exiles #3? She and Morph talked about Wolvie a little. This incarnation of Mariko never got involved with Wolvie, and actually seemed to think it was little strange.
